Have a dog that suffers from separation anxiety? Then read on. PetChatz HD is an innovative product which allows you to do a two-way video call between you and your pet. You can use it with a small little device called the PawCall, which has a button on it that your pet can press to call you via videochat! Additionally, the PetChatz device has the capability of dispensing treats upon the owner’s request. All the owner has to do is click a button on their phone and they can be miles away but still give their pet a treat.
Features
PetChatz HD has an exceedingly durable design that is of course, very pet safe. PetChatz is a space effective device as well, only measuring 4x7x11 inches. The unit is meant to be mounted to your wall.
Apart from two-way video and audio abilities, this product comes with several other very interesting features. For instance, it can release calming scents to pacify and soothe anxious or nervous dogs. You can dispense treats to the dogs remotely using the mobile app. And you can even record your dog and share the video with family and friends.
You can separately buy a PawCall, which is a little unit that your dog can use to initiate a call with you – how cool is that?!
Product Comparisons
Two other similar products to PetChatz include PetCube Play and the Furbo Dog Camera. PetCube Play is a much cheaper alternative at about half the price of PetChatz. However it lacks the two-way video. Instead, your pet can only hear you through an audio box. PetCube Play has a guaranteed resolution of 1080P. Furbo Dog Camera, on the other hand, costs in between the two previous products mentioned. However, it only records in 720P HD. Furbo Dog Camera’s primary function is to be able to give your pet treats with the click of a button on your phone when you are away, and does not feature a two way video call.
In short, there is a price premium on the PetChatz, but if you want to truly engage in two-way video communications with your dog, then that’s the way to go!

Customer Reviews
The biggest problem customers claim about PetChatz is the fact that the lens isn’t very wide. Therefore, your pet has to be exactly centered in front of the small camera in order for you to properly see them, which is very unlikely. Additionally, the quality of the video supposedly flunctuates and is very subjective. PetChatz does not claim a particular resolution, rather they just claim the video is in HD. Several customers, on the contrary, are indeed satisfied with the product and they say it is easy to build and gives them a unique opportunity to bond with their pets.
The Bottom Line
As far as pet cameras and treat dispensers go, this product is at the top end of the spectrum. It is kind of pricey, but it seems to be the only product of this kind where you can actually actually have a two-way video call with your pet. In fact, your pet can even initiate the call with the PawCall device! With its unique functions and elegant looking display, the PetChatz HD is certainly top of the line.
If the two-way video calling feature is not a must-have for you, then you can certainly consider the Furbo or the PetCube.
